1st Shipley Scouts are flipping fantastic!
The beginning of Lent was celebrated in traditional style at the 1st Shipley Scout hut. Using individual gas burners and working independently in their patrols, the Scouts were set the challenge of making 80 picture-perfect pancakes to celebrate Shipley Scout’s 80th Anniversary this year. The scouts got increasingly adept at getting all the different components of a good pancake right – mixture, heat, oil and of course some hand-eye co-ordination for confident pancake flipping! Practise definitely made perfect and the final heap of pancakes was hugely impressive. Cooking that quantity took quite a while, the clean-up was not insignificant either, but unsurprisingly all 80 pancakes disappeared very quickly at the end of the evening (with a little help from some delicious toppings!) Well done those pan-wielding Scouts.
