80 miles for 80 years

Night hikes are a regular part of the schedule at 1st Shipley Scouts, but the latest one on 7th March came with a mission – to cover at least 1 mile for every year that the 1st Shipley Scouts have been operating.

Becky Butler called a meeting on 25 November to initiate a joint Horsham Weald/ Horsham West Scout Network Unit. It was attended by Kevin Angell, the County Scout Network Commissioner, and both DC’s. Financial backing, including a start-up grant from HQ is available.

On Sunday 11th November, 1st Shipley Scout group gathered at St Mary’s Church, Shipley to mark Remembrance Day and donate a new bench to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

On Saturday 20th October 2012 a group of twenty-eight 1st Shipley Cubs, nine Scouts and six Leaders met at Christ's Hospital Station to travel up to London to stay over-night on the HMS Belfast.
